| A split system air conditioner is a combination of a portable window air conditioning unit and a central air conditioner. It is referred to as “split” type because it includes two units. One unit makes up the compressor, which is positioned outside the room or establishment. The other unit is the air handler, which is positioned in the wall of the room or establishment. Some models of split types have multiple air handlers but still have one compressor. In term of installation cost, a split system air conditioner is more expensive as compared to window type units. This is because you cannot simply install split types. You would need the help of professional to ensure proper installation. However, it is more efficient and produces minimal noise as compared window type units. |
