The principle behind heating and cooling systems is fairly simple. Air goes through a series of ducts and goes into a furnace or a cooling device. There, the air goes through a filter to be cleansed from dirt, dust, and other contaminants. Needless to say, ducted heating and cooling systems of today are more reliable than what they were five to ten years ago.

Technology makes their performance more effective in as much as air is more forcibly drawn in from an outside, heated quickly, and sent back to the living spaces promptly. Old heating systems do not have dedicated vents and blowers and still have to rely on gravity’s natural way of sending hot air up to the areas to be warmed.
